A few milestones at the last race as both Derek Steel and Roland Rabien hit the 50 races mark for COTR races!!  That is a lot of mud, safety pins, laundry and smiles.

FARMER BILLS

Normally the doughnut would be the highlight of the day.  With amazing racing at Farmer Bill’s on an almost completely different course……the doughnut would get 2nd place.

Belgian cross racers have as many descriptions for mud as Inuit have for snow.  Farmer Bills was “muddy”.  But the mud was not thick.  It did not jam the drive train or accumulate on the frame….the grass on the other hand did.  I wonder what the Belgians would call those conditions?

From LEE when I asked him about his race. “Big crash and a flat….it was going to be my race of the series”.

Super Cool to see some first time podium people last Sunday.  Leading the crew was Brechin Nowak in the U15/Beginner category with his 1st. Kieren Nilsen in 3rd in the same category. Ken Olson and Joel Lutz making their first podiums in Masters Men.  Doug Doyle taking his first win in 20 races in the Super Masters. Derek Steel 2nd in Super Masters at age 71! Derrill Shuttleworth making his first series race podium in Super Masters.  A good mix up on the podium and taking some solid points in the process for the series.

WE ARE GOING FOR A RECORD

The Binab GP is currently tied for the BIGGEST COTR race EVER at 270 racers.

So far this year we have had 445 people race at least one of our races this year.  Our goal….and it is a BIG one….is to BREAK our racer count at the Binab GP.

What does that mean?

It means you have to come out and race!  And you have to bring your friends to race.  And Sean Cruickshank has to race.  And John Fokkema and all the LEGENDS have to get on their bikes.  Everyone has to bring a beginner (Or someone that has raced before…or their grandma to get on a cx bike) and everyone need to come out.

Be a part of the record!  We want to go for it.

(FULL PREVIEW COMING NEXT WEEK)

What you can expect:
As Roland say’s, “Sticking with the winning formula”

  • Custom made prizes
  • Waffles
  • Fireworks
  • Beer (hopefully)

Heads up…..we will have to tweak the schedule in our record breaking attempt to have the Expert categories race at the same time….heads up.
