My 15 yr old son is interested in doing this race bot doesn’t have a cycling bc license. Are one day race licenses available for this race?

Yes, it’s an extra $10 for a one day license.

We are still finalizing the schedule, but it is most likely you will be racing at noon. Full details will be posted tomorrow.

I posted a preliminary schedule. The masters categories are not likely going to change, still trying to decide how to break up the juniors.

Sorry, must clarify, we are racing at noon as senior women – correct? Also, all men aged 30-40 are racing at 2:15, correct?

Are the ages 12 – 15 based on the UCI rules for cross? Does it mean that someone who is 15 now doesn’t race in the 12 – 15 category?

I believe we are using 2011 ages, but I’ll double check with Norm.

Another question… this race is completely separate from the Cross on the Rock races, correct? ie. no points for this race?

Correct, this race does not affect series standings.

Thanks for doing this Roland and Norm. Can I suggest the u19’s be in 2 year age categories? u13, u15, u17, u19. Then combine the starts if the numbers are low (IE. less than 8 or 10), but with separate results. Such as u19 and u17 start together, and u15 and u13 start 1 or 2 minutes behind? Or u19 men with another category if preferred. It’s probably not a huge problem to have different combinations of categories on the line together since it’s ‘cross, but I think different ages should be recognized in results in two year jumps. Even if there’s only 1 or 2 in an age category, those are the ones we really want to encourage to continue. And winning, and being recognized for it, even against one other competitor, matters to the younger ones, in my experience.

Will the 10:40 ferry get us there in time for the 1:00 race? Will you be using 2011 ages?

    thanks

      2011 ages.

Do you mean the 10:30 horseshoe bay to departure bay? It should get you there with at least 35 minutes before your race, which should give you enough time to register. But it doesn’t give you much time to warm up or per ride the course. Things could be really tight for time if the ferry is delayed. Your call.
