My son who is now 7 did this last year, but found it way too easy. Is he old enough to go into the beginner section? He has just finished his first season of BMX in Nanaimo.
We regularly have 9 year olds compete in beginner, a few 8 year olds, but no 7 year olds so far. We is welcome to give it a try.
Is it possible to purchase a day license for this race? If so is that available on site only?

Hi Andrea, one day licenses are available. If you race beginner, the one day license is included in the price. If you race any other category it’s an extra $10. I believe they are on site only.
what tpe of bikes are generally used by those wanting to try cyclocross for the first time? Bikes look like road bikes but modified. Would a mountain bike be completely out of the question?
If you don’t have a cyclocross bike, a mountain bike is a better idea. Preferably a hardtail. A true road bike isn’t a good idea.
Can you pay on the day of the race?
Day of reg. is available but remember it is cash only.
